Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness is the ability to observe with curiosity, compassion and acceptance what is going on around us and inside of us on a moment to moment basis. By helping clients develop an accepting awareness of their own habitual mental processes, I help them see, understand and respond in new ways to modes of thinking that may have been directing things, unseen, for many years. Through having their difficult feelings met with acceptance, kindness and compassion (first by me and, ultimately, by themselves), clients learn that they can bear, explore, and move through what they previously feared to approach. Thus, through increased self-awareness on several levels, clients become more and more able to move past what were previously internal obstacles, reach for their own authenticity, and continually become themselves.
